Contraindications
- Pregnancy/Nursing
- Pacemaker
- Metal implants
- Sunburn/Tanned skin
- Body jewelry – must be removed for treatment
- Open wounds
- Active infection
- You may not be a candidate if varicosities are present
Pre-treatment instructions
- Please remove makeup, lotion or deodorant to treatment area
- Please avoid direct sun exposure and tanning 4 weeks prior to your appointment
- Please notify our office if taking any medications that may make your skin photosensitive
Post-treatment instructions
- May apply Vit E or aloe vera for a soothing effect
- Avoid picking any scabbing that may develop post treatment
- Allow any sloughing of skin to occur naturally
- Apply 50 SPF to treatment area post laser or avoid direct sun exposure for minimum 2 weeks
- For maximum desired results, multiple treatments may be required at regular scheduled intervals
- Avoid strenuous workouts, hot tubs or spas for 24 hours post treatment
- If blistering appears, apply bacitracin to treatment area (available at any drug store)
- May apply cold packs to ease any temporary discomfort
- Wait to apply make up, deodorant and lotions for 24 hours as long the skin is not broken
- If any rash should occur, may take Benadryl or apply Benadryl cream to subside itching symptoms
- Follow up treatment should be scheduled within a 4-8 week time period determined by your provider
